The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time at Phoenix Theatre

Why see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time?

The 2013 Tony Award winner

Illuminating San Francisco's 2024/25 season, Simon Stephens's thought-provoking adaptation of Mark Haddon's bestselling novel is a groundbreaking play that looks through the eyes of Christopher, a neuro-divergent teenager. On a detective mission after his neighbor's dog is found murdered in mysterious circumstances, his world is opened up in ways he could never have imagined as he follows the clues to the culprit.

What is the story?

The story is told from the perspective of Christopher John Francis Boone, a fifteen-year-old from Swindon whose autism means he can't quite understand what people are thinking. But he does understand numbers and possesses the most enquiring of minds, so when he discovers the body of his neighbor's murdered poodle Wellington, he sets out to find out who did it.
