With a book and lyrics by Maggie Herskowitz and music by Neil Douglas Reilly, The Roads to Loch Lomond makes its regional premiere at the Phoenix Theater in Fall 2025! Featuring a cast of four and a five-piece band featuring fiddle, mandolin, guitars, reeds and percussion, it's a perfect blend of legend and real history to retell one of the most important parts of Scottish history.
wHAT is It About?
Set against the backdrop of the famous Jacobite rising, The Roads to Loch Lomond reimagines the story behind Scotland's most enduring ballad. With an original score rooted in Celtic folk tradition, the show follows two brothers whose loyalty to each other and to their country is tested by war and sacrifice.

Moving and emotional roller-coaster of a new musical.
I thought this was one of the most emotionally exciting shows I have ever seen. The music soars, and the lyrics and book are both captivating and compelling.
The show received a rousing standing ovation at the end that was deserved. The small cast was excellent, and the direction was spot on, but it is the story and the music that knock the wind out of you. The cliche of "not a dry in the house" in this case is apropos. ... Read more
