The Danish pop group, known for their iconic '90s hit "Barbie Girl", have been catapulted back in the limelight after the phenomenal global success of this year's Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie. And none too soon! Whether you're a fan or not, it's impossible for anyone who lived in the 90s not to have had a small period of their life soundtracked by Aqua's ubiquitous hits, which sent the group to number one around the world and to sales of over 33 million combined albums and singles.
For some, the sound of Aqua conjures playground memories. For others, anthems such as "Dr Jones" hark back to hot nights in the clubs and discos as 90s party culture showed no signs of abating. 25 years on and, although society has changed in so many ways - we now know in the real world that life in plastic is less than fantastic, and Barbie has distanced herself from being the "blonde bimbo girl" - who can resist re-discovering their inner Aqua-holic?
