Why See Kokopelli the Legend - A Native American Opera?
Dive into the Ancient World of the Hohokam
Kokopelli the Legend will transport audiences back eight centuries to an ancient society in Arizona where the Hohokam lived. Learn about these foregone people who created their own paradise, lasting nearly a millennium.
The Hohokam people were ruled by women and thrived as a community before being wiped out by a horrific drought and an invasion of Northerners.
Set in the 13th century, the tales of the Hohokam people are brought to life at the Herberger Theater Center against the artworks of Arizona native artist Jim Covarrubias.
