LEAVE MICHAEL MCDONALD AT HOME

Everything was great, until Michael McDonald started. The band sounded wonderful. They played like the recordings sounded. Great song list and the harmonies were spot on. Then, Michael started.... I don't know if he's had a stroke, if he was on drugs or alcohol or if he just totally forgot what he was doing. The eye rolls from the rest of the band were quite evident. It was painful to listen to and watch. His timing was off and he acted like he forgot the words. He was just horrible! Without him it was a fabulous concert. Note: I drove 3 hours to see them!!

GREAT TO SEE, BUT A TOUGH LISTEN AT TIMES!

Saw the Doobies last night in Puyallup WA…very impressed by Patrick Simmons and Tom Johnstown’s vocals…sadly not with Michael McDonald’s!…who truly was the draw to see them having reunited with the guys…Left wondering if he was sick, or as some in these reviews made mention to a stroke…but doubt that was it. Honestly, it sounded like he’s blown his voice out!…pitchy at time…severely reduced vocal range. I’ve seen MM solo many times…but that was years ago…perhaps Father Time has caught this fine vocalist…the band was tight…great sax/guitar work. A bit louder than it needed to be. Glad I got to see this ensemble, but wished it had been many years ago!

DOOBIES AT THE MAJESTIC THEATER DALLAS

Seen a lot of concerts at the Majestic. Think it has wonderful acoustics. That being said...the sound mix for the Doobies was way off. Would really have liked to hear the vocals. They were overpowered by the instruments. This was the first time I sat in the upper balcony. Maybe that's a factor. I do know that the seats up there felt like they were the originals from the 20's (the 1920's). Think the City of Dallas could stand to throw a little money toward this historic and beautiful old theater. Excellent musicians - bad sound mix. Enjoyed it but could have been so much better.

DOOBIE BROTHERS - NASHVILLE

I loved the mix of old and new songs, but the sound mix was not good, and it was way too loud. After about three sax solos I was over it - it became monotonous.

SHORELINE AND THE DOOBIE BROTHERS ALL NEED WORK!

I purchased tickets months ago when I realized that the 50th anniversary dates had been extended and we would be able to see Tge Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald. We got there early, I had purchased tix in the seated area as we are no longer able to sit on the ground. Just as the music is getting started the employees of Shoreline started sitting lawn seat purchasers in front of us! Not only that but the people they moved proceeded to talk over the music! Then after waiting to see the band again and everyone sounded sharp except Michael. It seemed like he couldn’t keep up with the tempo, nor could he sing the song! It sounded like he was trying to sing and play while running a marathon! I was extremely disappointed. Performers need to learn to admit when they are done and retire. It’s either he’s not kept in musical shape or the sound system for him alone was messed up. Very sad. And Shireline I deserve free tix to a show where you aren’t going to seat low life loud mouths in front of me! You want to have a visit?! Go to an effing cafe! You want to sing and dance and enjoy the mipusic, then a concert is where you belong!

SHOULD STICK TO THEIR CLASSICS

Very energetic and have not seen them with Michael McDonald in over 20 years. I have seen Michael McDonald solo and thought fantastic so I will continue to see him solo. He got the longest and loudest cheers whenever his name was mentioned so it confirms my statement. The group missed the mark for me by not playing some classics like “Keep Forgetting”…I guess they just forgot!

DISAPPOINTED

A for effort, D for product. Awful sound mix, vocals mostly lost in the mud. Overbearing bass and too many sax solos. What a shame!
